Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of backend services, focusing on scalability, fault tolerance, and performance under load.
- Embed security and compliance into every phase of development, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
- Work closely with product, DevOps, and compliance teams to deliver reliable, auditable solutions.
- Guide system architecture through technical leadership and contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy.
- Mentor engineers by promoting best practices in code quality, testing, and system design.
- Investigate and prototype integrations with blockchain technologies, including node operations and decentralized protocols.
- Champion modern, maintainable infrastructure by evaluating and adopting industry-leading tools and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Approximately 8 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years with an advanced degree.
- Deep experience with Java, modern frameworks, and distributed systems architecture.
- Proven track record optimizing performance in microservices and high-volume environments.
- Familiarity with security and compliance requirements in financial technology or regulated sectors.
- Interest or hands-on background in blockchain, crypto infrastructure, or decentralized networks.
- Strong communication and mentorship skills within cross-functional, fast-paced teams.
Work Environment

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: CAD$175,000 – CAD$205,000
