Motorola Solutions is seeking a Software Test Engineer to work on the Blue Eye product suite, focusing on executing and expanding automated testing strategies. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the Senior Test Engineer and software engineers to build, maintain, and run automated tests that ensure system reliability and prevent regressions in a CI/CD environment.
What You'll Do
- Implement and maintain automated tests across all Blue Eye products, focusing on backend services and third-party integrations (REST APIs, webhooks)
- Implement and maintain automated tests for the AIPX web application (SOC operator tool)
- Implement and maintain automated tests for the customer portal web application
- Write and maintain Cypress tests for UI and comprehensive end-to-end workflows
- Develop API and integration tests for backend services and event-driven workflows
- Execute test plans defined by the Test Lead and proactively identify coverage gaps or potential risks
- Help validate asynchronous and event-driven flows involving Azure messaging services
- Run and integrate tests within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring failures are visible, actionable, and resolved quickly
- Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and collaborate directly with engineers to resolve underlying issues
- Maintain test data, fixtures, and environment configurations to ensure reliable, repeatable test execution
- Contribute to the documentation of test cases, common patterns, and known limitations
- Support release validation and regression testing prior to production deployments
What We're Looking For
- 3–6 years of professional experience in software testing or quality engineering
- Hands-on experience writing automated tests, specifically with Cypress
- Strong experience testing web applications and backend APIs (REST, JSON, HTTP-based integrations)
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how automated tests integrate into the software development lifecycle
- Experience working with Git and collaborating within an Agile engineering team
- Strong attention to detail and a systematic, logical approach to debugging complex failures
- 3+ years of professional experience in software testing or quality engineering
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
Nice to Have
- Experience testing event-driven or asynchronous systems
- Exposure to cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts (e.g., Terraform) from a testing perspective
- Experience testing systems with complex third-party integrations
- Exposure to real-time or video-related systems, including WebRTC
- Familiarity with test result reporting, artifacts, and techniques for mitigating "flaky" tests

Compensation: $130,000 - $165,000 USD, plus Employee Stock Purchase Plan and Incentive Bonus Plans.
