Hatch Innovations Canada is hiring a Software QA Engineer for a 12-month contract with Electronic Arts [EA260316]. In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of web applications through a combination of manual and automated testing, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests.
- Perform manual and automated testing for web applications.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and ensure product quality.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using issue tracking tools.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test documentation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools to improve testing workflows and increase productivity.
- Conduct regression, functional, integration, and performance testing.
- Ensure web applications work properly across different browsers and devices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving testing strategies and quality standards.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Test Engineering.
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.
- Knowledge of end-to-end testing strategies and best practices.
- Good understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript for writing automated tests.
- Experience testing modern web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, etc.).
- Understanding of CI/CD processes and integration of automated tests.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar).
- Experience with performance testing tools.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
