Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Software Engineer IV to lead the design and development of scalable APIs and user interfaces for a new, innovative product. You will translate advanced algorithms into intuitive tools that enhance media activation workflows within our remote-first environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of self-service APIs and user interfaces for a new product from the ground up.
- Utilize existing platform components to build scalable, performant, and user-friendly solutions.
- Collaborate with data science and product teams to translate optimization algorithms into practical tools.
- Facilitate discussions with team members and stakeholders to identify and implement the best solutions.
- Own end-to-end feature delivery, including architecture, coding, testing, documentation, rollout, and adoption.
- Promote engineering best practices through code reviews, mentoring, and continuous improvement efforts.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of full-stack development experience with strong backend proficiency in Python and frontend expertise in React and TypeScript.
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs, including data modeling, error handling, and performance tuning.
- Skilled in both SQL and NoSQL database design, querying, and optimization.
- Familiarity with modern testing frameworks such as pytest, Cypress, and Playwright.
- Demonstrated ability to launch new products and navigate ambiguity by breaking down complex problems into clear deliverables.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with experience working closely with product and design teams.
