Guidewire is seeking a Software Engineer III (Platform Engineering) to join our team in developing a robust, multi-tenant cloud platform that runs Guidewire applications and services. In this role, you will engineer for quality, scalability, availability, and security while working directly on infrastructure as code and core platform services.
What You'll Do
- Develop a Multi-Tenant Cloud Platform that caters to running all Guidewire applications and services.
- Design and develop the GWCP/ATMOS infrastructure as code using technologies such as EKS (Kubernetes), Terraform, and Golang.
- Handle Observability of the Platform (logs, metrics, and traces).
- Design and develop Platform services that solve problems such as Developer Experience, Authentication, and Authorization using Java and Spring Boot.
- Employ TDD (Test Driven Development) to protect products with automated testing in a test-first culture.
- Deploy containerized applications to AWS through Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines.
- Solve problems daily by working with highly skilled team members in a pairing culture.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry technical skills.
- 5+ years of work experience in a SaaS/PaaS environment for large-scale enterprise.
- Strong programming and software development skills in one or more of: Java, Golang, Python, or equivalent.
- Experience with Container technologies like Docker in a Cloud ecosystem.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot programming skills within a Linux ecosystem.
Nice to Have
- Advocate of cloud platforms like Kubernetes, Mesos, Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, AWS, GCP, Azure, or Serverless architectures.
- Prior experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management, using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
