Ford is seeking a Software Engineer to be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs across on-premises and cloud-native environments. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with a Balanced Product Team.
What You'll Do
- Participate in and/or lead the development of requirements, features, user stories, use cases, and test cases.
- Participate in daily stand-up operations meetings.
- Author process and design documents.
- Work with stakeholders including the Business Customer, Product Owner, Architects, and Product Designer on solution design, development, and deployment.
- Generate metrics, perform user access authorization and password maintenance, and build deployment pipelines.
- Participate and/or lead incident, problem, change, and service request activities including root cause analysis and proactive defect prevention.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable software solutions that integrate Generative AI models (e.g., LLMs) into production systems.
- Experience building and optimizing infrastructure, pipelines, and tools for training, fine-tuning, and serving Generative AI models.
- 1+ year of experience developing for and deploying to cloud platforms like GCP or Azure.
- Experience implementing and optimizing cloud services and tools like Terraform and BigQuery.
- 2+ years of REST API or related development.
- 2+ years of experience using a combination of languages (Java / JS / TS / Python), frontend frameworks (Angular / React), and backend frameworks (Spring Boot / Node).
- Proven experience with software engineering disciplines: Paired/Mobbing programming, Test-driven Development (TDD), evolutionary design, and Minimum Viable Product.
- Willingness to collaborate daily with team members.
- Strong curiosity about using technology to amaze and delight customers.
- Experience using CI/CD tools and pipelines like Tekton, Jenkins, GIT Action, or Cloud Build.
Nice to Have
- Full-stack development experience.
- Highly effective working with other technical experts, Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and business stakeholders.
- Experience delivering products involving web front-end development with JavaScript, CSS, and frameworks like Angular.
- Comfort with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and pipelines.
- Experience with machine learning, mathematical modeling, and data analysis.
- Experience with Agile tools like CA Agile Central (Rally, JIRA) for backlogs, iterations, and user stories.
- Experience developing microservices.
- Understanding of fundamental data modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
