BT is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. You will support the execution of our software engineering strategy and roadmap, which directly enables BT's commercial goals. This role focuses on delivering high-quality technical solutions through collaboration within cross-functional squads.
What You'll Do
- Support the implementation of technical solutions for customers and colleagues, resolving inter-system issues.
- Assist in executing technical decisions, technology choices, and architecture for high-performance products and platforms.
- Support the design and development of software solutions in line with wider architecture and security standards.
- Write, test, and review code, refining and rewriting as necessary under supervision.
- Integrate existing software products and solve routine problems to enable incompatible platforms to work together.
- Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of high-quality tools and automation for continuous delivery and developer productivity.
- Assist in delivering a compelling technical roadmap to meet business and engineering needs.
- May support engineering excellence initiatives, helping to implement metrics and processes for improvement.
- Support efforts to improve working processes within the software engineering domain.
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Debugging
- Experience with Agile Development methodologies
- Knowledge of Database Design/Development
- Programming/Scripting skills
- Understanding of Microservices/Service Oriented Architecture
- Familiarity with Version Control systems
- Awareness of IT Security principles
- Experience with Cloud Computing
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment Automation & Orchestration
- Experience in Software Testing
- Proven skills in Application Development
- Understanding of Algorithm Design
- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
