As a Software Engineer at WellSky, you will be responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle, using a variety of technologies to build impactful software solutions. You will join the AOS Engineering team with a focus on building and optimizing solutions that prioritize end-user efficiency and experience.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain features and components of WellSky solutions with an emphasis on code quality, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with solution managers, designers, and other teams to gather requirements, propose solutions, and deliver high-impact features.
- Identify and resolve technical issues in production and development environments.
- Optimize system performance and scalability through troubleshooting and ongoing improvements.
- Prepare technical documentation and participate in code reviews to ensure software meets internal standards and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain a robust set of unit tests and participate in other automated testing, including integration, load, and performance testing.
- Leverage common GenAI tools for AI assisted development and understand the basics of prompt engineering.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate initiative and flexibility as team goals evolve.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2-4 years relevant work experience.
- Experience developing with .NET, using C# or Java.
- Familiarity with Angular or React (Angular preferred for web; React Native used for mobile).
- Interest or hands-on experience with AI development tools like GitHub Copilot or Copilot Studio.
- Solid understanding of unit testing and automated testing practices.
- Comfort working in Agile environments, including tools like JIRA and participation in Scrum and sprint planning.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS or Azure.
- Experience working in healthcare technology environments, especially with Home Health & Hospice systems.
- Familiarity with HL7 standards and interoperability protocols used in clinical data exchange.
