Societe Generale is hiring a Software Engineer to focus on open-source technologies, designing and developing solutions that align with business needs and drive innovation. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our open-source advocacy and migration efforts, helping to reduce costs and empower our development teams.
What You'll Do
- Gather open-source requirements and propose effective solutions.
- Design and develop open-source solutions aligned to business needs.
- Coordinate and implement open-source solutions with multiple teams to migrate from licensed versions for cost reduction.
- Build open-source migration kits to ease developer life and ensure smoother migration.
- Continuously learn new open-source technologies and build proofs of concept (POCs).
- Act as a bridge between the open-source community and the organization as a developer advocate.
- Raise awareness among developers about open source and its potential opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with teams across open source and developer communities.
- Drive innovation within the group and propagate the open-source footprint with insights on emerging technologies.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience in various open-source technologies, coding systems, platforms, and software.
- Solid experience in problem solving, debugging, troubleshooting, and fixing issues/bugs in open-source software.
- Good experience in building proofs of concept (POCs) for technology-agnostic solutions.
- Good knowledge in building open-source migration kits.
- Experience in tracking and reporting issues.
- Fair knowledge on open-source databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Cassandra.
- Knowledge on open-source.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.

- Openness to work on any programming languages like C, C++, Java, Dot Net, Python, Angular, React.
