Passthrough is seeking a Software Engineer to join our early-stage startup. You will solve complex problems that extend far beyond coding, influencing product design and company direction. This role offers a chance to develop a deep understanding of our entire product and technology stack, and will be tailored to align with your professional goals.

What You'll Do

Solve complex projects without easy answers, such as creating our investor passport product.
Approach challenges from technical, product, security, and visual perspectives.
Take on tasks outside of strictly engineering as part of a highly collaborative team.
Play a critical role in product decisions and work closely with founders and all company departments.
Work in two-week sprints, helping decide project focus and personally executing on key work.

What We're Looking For

Proficiency in Python
Proficiency in React or expertise in an equivalent frontend framework
Proficiency in Django or expertise in equivalent web frameworks
Familiarity with SQL
Ability to learn and adapt quickly
Comfort with ambiguity in a fast-growing startup environment

Nice to Have

Clear, concise communication skills
Enthusiasm to be stretched beyond a standard software engineering role
Interest or experience in financial or wealth technology

Team & Environment

You'll join a close-knit group of 5, a mix of NYC-based and remote team members. Our team consists of former Google and Carta employees, and the environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative. You will work closely with the founders, engineering manager, and product manager.
