Kong is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) focused on our Kong Gateway product. In this role, you will be responsible for building a robust automation framework and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for Kong Gateway
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans for new features and regressions
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate quality checks into the CI/CD pipeline
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and track them through to resolution
- Contribute to improving the overall testing strategy and quality processes
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in software development or test automation
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, or Java
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and the SDLC
- Ability to write clear, maintainable code for test automation
Nice to Have
- Experience testing API gateways, proxies, or networking software
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with performance, load, or security testing
