Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain innovative software solutions that support critical business and client needs. In this role, you will transform requirements into robust technical implementations in collaboration with senior developers, project managers, and cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do
- Develop, test, and maintain application code to meet performance and reliability standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and teammates to define, design, and implement new features.
- Conduct code reviews, incorporate feedback, and maintain technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, bugs, and performance issues.
- Actively participate in architectural discussions to influence technical decision-making.
- Stay current with industry tools, frameworks, and best practices to continuously improve processes.
What We're Looking For
- 3–6 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#.
- Experience with front-end or back-end frameworks like React, Vue, Node.js, or .NET.
- Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server).
- Familiarity with software design principles, patterns, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a growth mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with GIS platforms (Esri ArcGIS, Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers) and geospatial data formats.
