About the Role

Liberty University is hiring a Software Developer II to join our Information Services team. In this role, you'll support the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team within IT Application Development by writing clean code, debugging, and delivering projects on schedule. You will collaborate closely with team members to implement and maintain custom applications.

What You'll Do

  • Write clean, efficient code and actively participate in code reviews.
  • Analyze code, identify bugs, and resolve technical issues.
  • Consistently deliver code on schedule while adhering to established processes.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks effectively for timely project completion.
  • Participate constructively in code reviews and implement feedback.
  • Collaborate within and outside the team to gather requirements and implement solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of potential pitfalls and respond with strategic foresight.
  • Deliver high-quality code, identify issues, and test application performance.
  • Actively contribute to team discussions, write documentation, and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Contribute ideas for application or process improvements.
  • Mentor junior developers on best practices.
  • Keep technical documentation updated and accessible.
  • Adhere to all Liberty University policies and represent the University professionally.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing the University's Christian model and Mission.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2+ years of software development experience with proficiency in relevant programming languages.
  • Back-End Expertise: Proficiency with server-side languages, specifically C# simple API design and implementation.
  • Database Expertise: Proficiency with creating and altering existing database data structures for an application.
  • Front-End Expertise: Proficiency in VueJS with responsive design.
  • Testing and Debugging Skills: Ability to perform thorough debugging.
  • Deployment Experience: Familiarity with cloud deployments (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to assess situations, evaluate information, and solve problems.
  • Ability to perform desk-based work, including computer use and data entry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in meetings and collaborative settings.

Team & Environment

You will join the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team within IT Application Development, working on custom applications. You will work within a team under the supervision of a lead developer.
