About the Role

The producer will develop and edit short-form video content optimized for social media platforms, transforming in-depth reporting into accessible visual narratives that drive public engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Produce compelling video content designed specifically for social media distribution
  • Edit raw footage into concise, attention-grabbing clips for platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Collaborate with reporters and editors to identify visually powerful story elements
  • Translate complex investigative narratives into clear, shareable video formats
  • Use motion graphics and text overlays to enhance viewer understanding
  • Ensure brand consistency across all video outputs
  • Meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced editorial environment
  • Optimize videos for mobile viewing and platform-specific requirements
  • Monitor performance metrics to inform future content decisions
  • Stay current with evolving social media trends and video formats
  • Work closely with engagement and audience teams to maximize reach
  • Revise content based on editorial feedback and performance data
  • Manage multiple video projects simultaneously
  • Maintain organized digital asset libraries
  • Ensure all content complies with journalistic standards and ethics
  • Coordinate with legal and editorial teams when sensitive material is involved
  • Contribute ideas for new video series or recurring formats
  • Use captions and accessibility features in all deliverables
  • Source and license third-party footage when necessary
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in video production and delivery
