The Site Reliability Engineer will support tools used by field technicians to diagnose and resolve network issues across a nationwide infrastructure. This role works within a small, integrated team alongside developers, testers, and project managers, contributing across the full product lifecycle to ensure reliable, scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions for internal teams using tools like Terraform and Ansible
- Configure and manage AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and application deployments
- Collaborate with developers to establish and maintain engineering best practices
- Monitor system performance, respond to alerts, and optimize monitoring configurations
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and incident resolution
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Concourse and GoCD for automated deployments
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives such as security hardening and compliance improvements
- Develop technical solutions for complex operational and application challenges
- Analyze business requirements and recommend technology solutions aligned with proven practices
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality systems on schedule
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership within the engineering team
- Document all development and production support activities in the ticketing system
- Ensure project requests are properly managed through the DevOps lifecycle with attention to quality and efficiency
- Deploy new software and systems while conducting thorough testing to validate functionality
- Define appropriate test coverage and strategies as part of deployment planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree is required
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure configuration
- Proficiency with AWS services
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Experience using configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Knowledge of Docker for containerization
- Experience with monitoring tools including Prometheus, AlertManager, and Grafana
- Proficiency with Git for version control
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Familiarity with ECS and ECR for container services

Compensation
Pay Range of $114,997.87 - $180,337.56. Most non-sales roles are eligible for a bonus.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid work model with primary locations in New Jersey and Denver Campus. Employees are generally expected on-site for collaboration unless the role is designated as virtual. Remote candidates over 100 miles from the office may be considered if the position allows virtual work.
Team
Small, tightly-knit team within the CONNECT OpTek group, operating as part of the SRE function. Works closely with software developers, testers, and project managers throughout the development and operations lifecycle.
