LyondellBasell (LYB) is hiring a Site Process Safety Engineer for our Münchsmünster site. This role is critical for a successful transition to a new company, supporting manufacturing in solving process safety issues and managing key process safety programs.
What You'll Do
- Support manufacturing in solving process safety related issues in polymerization, monomer production, extrusion and solids handling areas.
- Support process hazard analysis and risk management.
- Support the Management of Change (MOC) process for all plant changes.
- Promote technical process safety exchange within the site, assessing and promoting implementation of better practices and technical solutions.
- Actively participate in PS communities and watch out for best practices.
- Observe rules, regulations and legislation concerning process safety and the state of safety technology, implementing respective amendments in company guidelines.
- Ensure the pragmatic implementation of OE standards.
- Investigate process safety related incidents.
- Stay up-to-date regarding new technologies and best practices in the field of process safety.
- Participate in regular safety walks to ensure HSE standards are recognized and followed.
- Serve as a member of the local NEZ Team, a qualified person with special knowledge about explosion prevention and Facility Siting, and as the Process Safety On Board Focal Point for Münchsmünster.
What We're Looking For
- A Chemical or Process Engineering degree from a Technical College or University.
- Knowledge of process safety, explosion prevention, handling of flammable liquids and combustible dusts, mechanical integrity, and risk assessment.
- Good communication skills, including fluent German and advanced English.
Nice to Have
- 5 to 8 years of experience in either process engineering, operations or maintenance, preferably with an instrumentation & electrical or process engineering background.
