Smart Tech Contracting seeks a Service Technician IV to provide critical technical support for emergency service and planned preventative maintenance of Building Automation Systems (BAS). This role focuses on the Healthcare, Industrial, and Mission Critical / Technology sectors. You will work with a variety of stakeholders, including the service manager, coordinators, project managers, and client staff, while performing and documenting all BAS service-related work.
What You'll Do
- Respond to client emergency service calls, including participation in a 24/7 hotline pool.
- Troubleshoot BAS and mechanical systems using secure remote connectivity tools and multiple BAS software platforms.
- Create and update service work tickets using company tools.
- Travel to client sites, assisting with coordination of local vendors, integrators, and contractors.
- Document activities in detail and provide frequent client communication.
- Conduct remote and on-site scheduled BAS technical reviews of system installation, performance, function, GUI, and alarms.
- Perform calibration verification using portable testing instrumentation.
- Develop service reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage personal hours using company tools.
- Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication, organizational skills, self-motivation, and resourcefulness.
- Knowledge of IoT or smart building solutions.
- Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) with exceptional organizational skills for file management.
- Knowledge of integration of open-source protocols via Ethernet and serial communication buses (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP), with a basic understanding of HVAC systems and BAS architecture.
- Knowledge of networking used in BAS systems, including interfacing with client IT resources.
- Ability to work in BAS software such as Tridium Niagara (AX/N4), Honeywell WEBs, Distech Controls, Automated Logic, Delta Controls, or Reliable Controls.
- Skilled in startup and troubleshooting of BAS systems in data center / critical environments.
- Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize processes, and contribute to innovation.
- Ability to follow company and site safety requirements.
- Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
