Ryerson is hiring a Service Center Operator B (SCOB) to manage the day-to-day staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments. You’ll use proper equipment to fulfill customer orders and maintain operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders.
- Break down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
- Package material according to customer requirements.
- Operate sit-down or side loader forklifts to move material.
- Properly complete paperwork and confirm SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
- Maximize productivity for finished goods creation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to pass a skills-based assessment in reading, math, inspection, measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
- Regular attendance.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills and comfort using a computer.
- Physical ability to pass an exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
- Willingness to enroll in a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding.
Nice to Have
- Minimum 2 years of similar job experience.
