UpdraftCentral is hiring a Senior WordPress Plugin Developer (Full Stack) to be a senior contributor responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of new features, complex modules, and critical bug fixes for our platform. This role involves driving architectural decisions, ensuring high coding standards, mentoring developers, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of new features, complex modules, and critical bug fixes across the entire stack using PHP, JavaScript, and WordPress.
- Champion best practices through code review and peer review to ensure clean, efficient, secure, and well-documented code.
- Actively mentor and offer technical guidance to other developers to elevate the team's technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with the team to define and evolve the technical architecture of UpdraftCentral for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Proactively research, diagnose, and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Work closely with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver impactful solutions.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of significant experience in PHP WordPress Plugin Development with a deep understanding of the WordPress ecosystem, best practices, and API.
- Proven experience in code review or peer review with a strong ability to provide constructive feedback and enforce coding standards.
- Demonstrated ability in mentoring and offering technical guidance to less experienced developers.
- Expert-level proficiency in PHP with experience in developing complex, object-oriented applications.
- Strong command of JavaScript & jQuery.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL), including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git/GitHub/GitLab.
Nice to Have
- Extensive experience with server environments and hosting configurations (e.g., Apache, Nginx, cloud platforms).
- Experience with optimizing plugin performance and prefetching data.
