About the Role
A senior role focused on technical delivery in transport planning and modelling, requiring expertise in STEAM, industry-standard software, data analysis, project leadership, and coordination within multidisciplinary teams in Abu Dhabi.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage small to medium-scale transportation planning projects.
- Support transport modelling, master planning, and impact assessment studies.
- Coordinate, supervise, and manage the work of junior team members.
- Ensure technical accuracy and quality in project deliverables.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, line managers, and team members.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations with strong attention to detail.
- Participate constructively in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Represent the company in engagements with clients and regulatory authorities.
- Apply project management techniques to ensure timely and compliant delivery.
- Maintain high standards of quality assurance and control throughout project execution.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving and effective communication skills.
- Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for transportation services.
- Handle large datasets using MS Excel for analysis and reporting.
- Utilize AutoCAD for transport planning documentation and design support.
- Contribute to continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
- Solid grasp of transport planning and modelling principles to support technical studies and planning initiatives.
- Proven experience with industry-standard tools including Cube Voyager, PTV Visum, PTV Vissim, SIDRA, Synchro, and HCS+.
- Demonstrated experience working with the Abu Dhabi Strategic Transportation Evaluation and Assessment Model (STEAM).
- Proficient in managing, analyzing, and manipulating large datasets using MS Excel.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for transport-related drafting and design tasks.
- Strong technical writing abilities for producing clear and accurate reports.
- High-level competence in English, including reading, writing, and spoken communication at a professional standard.
- Understanding of project management methodologies and their application in technical projects.
- Ability to coordinate and supervise the work of junior staff effectively.
- Knowledge of project delivery processes, including technical execution and quality assurance procedures.
- Experience leading transportation planning components within multidisciplinary projects.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Aimsun as an added advantage.
- Experience applying statistical analysis tools and database software.
- Working knowledge of GIS platforms such as ArcGIS.
- Understanding of road safety principles and practices.
- Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals for traffic and master planning services.
- Proficiency in Arabic, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Prior professional experience in the Middle East or GCC region.
- Eligibility for professional certification or chartership (e.g., P.E., P.Eng., CEng, Chartered Transport Planner, or equivalent).
