Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of detailed test plans and strategies to reduce production defects and align with project objectives.
  • Evaluate and estimate the time, resources, and effort needed for testing tasks to support project scheduling and delivery timelines.
  • Apply an automation-first mindset when testing medium-sized features to increase test coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Create and execute complex, cross-functional test cases that validate all software requirements across multiple testing types.
  • Take full responsibility for end-to-end testing of complex initiatives, ensuring thorough and effective execution.
  • Lead both manual and automated testing for multiple small features with the goal of minimizing defects in production.
  • Work with the team to enhance automated testing methods and expand test coverage over time.
  • Own the documentation of complex test cases, results, and detailed bug reports with in-depth analysis.
  • Produce clear, reproducible test cases and bug reports, and maintain up-to-date documentation for large features to support quality assurance.
  • Promote and enforce testing best practices to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to clarify complex requirements and ensure all features meet quality standards across functional areas.
  • Support and guide user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and quality assurance practices.
  • Lead small-scale process improvement efforts within a medium-sized functional domain.
  • Use testing metrics and data to detect inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance software quality and testing effectiveness.
  • Actively explore and assess new testing tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Suggest and assist in integrating innovative solutions that improve testing outcomes.
  • Guide junior engineers in adopting new testing tools and practices.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced test engineers to strengthen their skills and improve team-wide testing standards.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and a collaborative team culture.
  • Serve as the main point of resolution for testing obstacles, proactively addressing issues that could affect schedules or quality.
  • Escalate issues when appropriate, while maintaining ownership of driving solutions with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead the evaluation and refinement of existing test strategies.
  • Ensure testing methods support project goals and technical limitations, recommending changes to maximize coverage and efficiency.
  • Review test cases for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they reflect project requirements and use cases, especially for smaller teams.
