Konecranes is looking for a Senior Technical Support Specialist to provide expert-level technical support for crane operations across North America. In this remote role based in the USA, you will be the key technical resource responsible for advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, and training on complex crane configurations.
What You'll Do
- Provide advanced technical support to the crane manufacturer network through remote and on-site consultation for complex project requirements.
- Deliver targeted training sessions to enhance the technical capabilities of crane builders.
- Serve as a technical advisor to Product Delivery Managers (PDMs) on high-level product and solution inquiries.
- Resolve complex design and operational challenges to ensure successful project execution.
- Act as a technical resource throughout the project life cycle when requested by project managers.
- Coordinate and schedule on-site technical collaboration with project managers.
- Oversee the configuration, testing, and commissioning of advanced smart crane features.
- Manage post-commissioning tasks related to feature optimization and system integration.
- Provide field support during installation and startup, ensuring correct wire termination, cable routing, and system integration.
- Assist installers in adopting commissioning responsibilities through enhanced technical collaboration.
- Offer on-demand technical troubleshooting to service technicians during crane commissioning.
- Collaborate with warranty teams to validate root causes and provide direct troubleshooting assistance.
- Partner with the Global Technical Support (GTS) team on high-priority crane issues.
- Provide critical in-person support to factory teams during testing and product validation phases.
- Offer high-level support to the team on specialized cases, ensuring efficient technical problem-solving.
- Maintain subject matter expertise on new products and features through continuous training.
- Conduct advanced technical training sessions for service branches and subcontractor teams on electrical and mechanical systems.
What We're Looking For
- Must be willing and able to work off the ground.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience involving electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair.
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to work varied overtime, be available for 'on call' as part of a service office rotation, and travel occasionally.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs, lift up to 50 lbs daily, lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, and lift 100 lbs on a rare basis.
- This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching; occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling.
- This role is inside approximately 90% of the time and outside 10% of the time, with frequent exposure to heat, cold, noise, and heights.
Nice to Have
- Associate degree in an Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Technology, or related field, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.
- Some electronic experience.
- Prior experience with cranes.
