Chainguard is looking for a Senior Technical Support Engineer to be the frontline agent for complex customer issues. You will triage, investigate, and resolve technical problems involving Chainguard Images, bridging communication between customers and our engineering team to help shape a world-class support experience.
What You'll Do
- Triage, investigate, manage, and resolve complex customer issues involving Chainguard Images.
- Escalate issues to the Engineering team when necessary.
- Communicate professionally with customers to keep them informed and meet SLAs.
- Explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Create detailed documentation of new issues and contribute to the Knowledge Base.
- Prioritize your own queue, drive clear communication, and proactively guide issues to resolution.
- Push bugs, feature requests, and other issues up to Engineering and GTM teams.
- Seek new challenges, share wisdom, and mentor others.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and holiday support.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years supporting enterprise customers with a confident, calm approach.
- 3+ years of experience with Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience delivering top-tier customer experiences with stellar written and verbal communication.
- Experience working cross-functionally with teams like Engineering and Customer Success.
- Comfortable with DevOps tools and concepts: CI/CD, Linux, GitHub, Helm Charts, Terraform, Open source.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) or equivalent real-world experience.
Nice to Have
- AWS EKS experience.
- Experience with security frameworks, software supply chain security, or vulnerability scanning.
- CKA, CKAD, CKS, or KCSA certifications.
- Startup experience navigating fast-paced environments.
- A curious, fast learner.
