As a Senior Technical QA Analyst, you'll play a central role in validating and improving the Behavior Engine that powers intelligent agent interactions in immersive game worlds. You'll work directly within Unreal Engine to design and implement automated test scenarios that rigorously assess AI behavior under complex, evolving conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop in-engine test cases using Unreal Blueprints and the Functional Testing Framework to validate AI agent decision-making and responsiveness.
- Conduct deep-dive investigations into defects using Visual Logger, Blueprint Debugger, and Unreal Editor tools to isolate root causes across platform, AI logic, and user implementation layers.
- Design scalable test architectures for non-deterministic systems, including LLM-driven interactions and multi-agent workflows.
- Build reusable utility scripts and Editor Blueprints to streamline validation of data assets and configuration setups for both internal and external teams.
- Translate defect patterns and regression trends into actionable insights for engineering and product teams to drive systemic improvements.
- Generate clear, structured reports that support rapid triage and resolution during active development cycles.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years in game QA or development on AAA or AA titles, with at least three shipped games.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Unreal Engine, including Blueprint scripting and debugging workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to design modular, maintainable test frameworks that scale across diverse agents and environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on technical precision and root-cause validation.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Edmonton, Alberta, with flexibility for onsite, hybrid, or remote arrangements. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and AI specialists in a culture that encourages experimentation, ownership, and creative ambition.
Why This Matters
You’ll help shape how intelligent characters perceive, react, and evolve within game worlds. Your work will directly influence the stability and believability of next-generation AI-driven gameplay experiences, working alongside pioneers in AI and interactive storytelling.
