Role Overview
This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards in quality, safety, and reliability across energy system installations in the Midwest. The engineer ensures that both company and third-party construction efforts align with engineering design and operational requirements from initial build through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site audits of construction and equipment installation to verify compliance with design specifications and readiness for commissioning
- Act as a gatekeeper for transitioning projects into the commissioning phase by validating that all system components meet or exceed intended performance criteria
- Identify, document, and lead resolution of quality gaps involving internal teams and external Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners
- Perform routine safety and environmental inspections throughout all project phases
- Enforce the use of structured problem-solving methods, including 8D, to address critical field issues related to quality, safety, and reliability
- Respond quickly to early-life system failures, conducting root cause analysis and supporting corrective actions for construction, installation, or manufacturing defects
- Collaborate with field operations during product upgrades and replacement unit deployments
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing field data and performance metrics to identify cost-saving and value-enhancing opportunities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or 10 years of equivalent field experience
- At least five years of hands-on experience in building, installing, and commissioning complex power generation or industrial systems
- Proficiency in interpreting civil and electrical drawings and communicating technical requirements across teams
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and escalate critical issues effectively
- Experience holding internal and external teams accountable to quality standards and regulatory codes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in customer-facing scenarios involving contract deviations or performance issues
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications and CRM platforms such as Salesforce
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical field
- Experience with Oracle systems
- Background working on international projects

Work Arrangement
This role supports sites in the Midwest region and operates with a remote-flexible model, requiring regular travel to project locations.
Compensation
Annual salary range: $110,700 – $159,300
