ecoATM/Gazelle is hiring a Senior Staff Data Scientist to lead data science initiatives, develop machine learning models, and help shape the company's data-driven strategy. You will report directly to the SVP of Data & Analytics.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models across domains like customer segmentation, recommendation systems, and fraud detection.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover key trends and insights from structured and unstructured datasets.
- Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques such as regression, clustering, time series analysis, and deep learning.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists on best practices, model development, and data exploration.
- Collaborate with data engineers to build and optimize data pipelines for efficient processing, storage, and retrieval.
- Create clear data visualizations to communicate complex results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with data science, machine learning, and AI advancements, integrating new techniques into projects.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making by transforming data insights into business recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- A master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5-7 years as a Data Scientist with a proven track record of deploying models in production.
- Strong experience with data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala.
- Strong understanding of machine learning libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
- Experience with big data tools and platforms like Hadoop, Spark, Hive.
- Expertise in SQL for querying databases and data wrangling.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and tools for model deployment.
- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation design, and Causal inference.
- A strong statistical background and ability to apply statistical models to real-world business problems.
- Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions and communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Strong communication, presentation, leadership, and mentoring capabilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with deep learning frameworks like Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with NLP (Natural Language Processing) and computer vision techniques.
