Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend systems for domain registration workflows
- Collaborate with product and security teams to ensure compliance with domain industry standards
- Optimize performance and reliability of registrar APIs and databases
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments
- Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable infrastructure
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Support integration with third-party domain registries and registrars
- Monitor system health and respond to incidents promptly
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Go or similar systems programming languages
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with DNS, TLS, and internet protocols
- Knowledge of domain registration standards such as EPP
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Understanding of security best practices in public-facing services
- Proven ability to debug and optimize large-scale systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with domain name registries or registrars
- Contributions to open-source projects related to networking or security
- Knowledge of ICANN policies and domain lifecycle management
- Experience with cloud infrastructure at scale
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Background in building customer-facing APIs
- Track record of leading technical projects
- Experience in incident response and on-call rotations
