Mercury Insurance Services, LLC is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems. You will lead agile teams or projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
What You'll Do
- Write high-quality code for complex scenarios with good test coverage.
- Review and translate product requirements into robust designs for distributed application systems.
- Lead design and code reviews of multiple applications to ensure best practices and adherence to Mercury standards.
- Lead the sprint team to deliver new or improved features, addressing any impediments.
- Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of intended functionality.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers on the team.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years software programming experience with 2+ years experience in Technologies used at Mercury.
- 1+ years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
Nice to Have
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
- 5 or more years with the Java programming language.
- 5 or more years of the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot for building microservices and REST APIs.
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB for storing and retrieving data.
- Ability to effectively utilize AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT within an IDE.
- Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
