Meijer Stores LP is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Mobile to design, develop, and enhance business-critical mobile applications. As a senior member of an Agile team, you will drive stakeholder engagement, translate requirements into solutions, and participate in all phases of the development lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Design, code, test, and implement programs; develop system documentation according to SAFe Agile principles.
- Perform unit tests, monitor results, and take required corrective actions.
- Assist in the deployment and optimization of applications to meet functional requirements.
- Provide technical consultation for new systems development and enhancements.
- Mentor and coach other members of the Agile team.
- Assist product owners in systems analysis and creation of business process documentation.
- Interface with the Product Owner and IT partners to develop and meet feature acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate new product reviews, tests, pilots, feasibility studies, and technical reviews.
- Assist in Production Support and maintenance of applications as needed.
- Actively participate in all team Agile ceremonies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems development and programming.
- Minimum of 3 years of Android Development experience with Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of native Android development using Kotlin and Java, Android Studio, Android SDK, and testing.
- Strong knowledge and experience with design patterns like MVVM or MVI.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, coroutines, and flow.
- Knowledge of Jetpack Compose and experience migrating views to composables.
- Familiarity with large enterprise business systems.
- Proficient in source code management with Git.
- 3+ years of development experience outside of Android (e.g., C#, .Net, C++, SQL, JavaScript).
- Willingness to work on other Mobile Tech Stacks as needed (e.g., MAUI, Flutter).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of agile practices and the ability to adapt technology to business needs.
- Must live within the six-state Meijer footprint (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, or Wisconsin).
- Willingness to travel to corporate headquarters as needed.
