Cultivate Advisors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to join our Identity & Verification team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the core platforms that establish and verify customer identity throughout their lifecycle. This role offers full ownership of features from design to deployment, shaping a fundamental part of our integrity platform.
What You'll Do
- Design and build solutions for highly scalable and reliable distributed systems central to our success.
- Develop and implement technology, processes, and potential machine learning models for Payments and KYC data collection and automated verification across the entire customer lifecycle.
- Contribute to the platform framework that manages the onboarding of legal entities and the integration of identity and verification capabilities.
- Influence the entire software development lifecycle, from architectural design and strategic implementation to testing and deployment.
- Take end-to-end ownership of your work through the development lifecycle.
- Uphold high standards for system health by implementing robust monitoring, defining SLOs, and creating effective alerting.
- Collaborate closely with your team, Product Managers, Customer Onboarding, Merchant Operations, and Regulatory teams to refine and implement ideas.
- Develop and implement observability tools to proactively monitor system performance and deliver strategic solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- A strong foundation in Java, with experience building web services and REST APIs.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining highly scalable and reliable distributed systems.
- Comfortable with SQL/PostgreSQL and understanding of how to work with databases effectively.
- Embrace a culture of operational excellence with a solid grasp of monitoring best practices, SLOs, and resilience patterns.
