What You'll Do
Lead the design and implementation of backend systems that power a rapidly growing AI platform serving over 150 million users. You'll take ownership of complex technical challenges, from initial concept through to deployment, ensuring high performance and reliability. Collaborate across teams to integrate diverse capabilities into the AI ecosystem, making it more adaptable and accessible.
Guide junior and mid-level engineers by sharing best practices, improving code quality, and reducing system complexity. Influence platform direction by identifying pain points and proposing strategic improvements. Work closely with product and engineering partners to align technical execution with real-world user needs, helping refine the product vision over time.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a backend engineer with a focus on delivering robust, scalable systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and make sound architectural decisions
- Strong coding skills in Java, with hands-on experience building backend services
- Track record of owning projects from idea to production, even in uncertain or evolving environments
- Passion for AI technologies, including large language models and fine-tuning techniques
- Product-focused mindset with an eye for how engineering impacts end-user experience
- Comfortable taking initiative, assessing risks, and driving progress independently
