What You'll Do
Design and maintain high-performance backend services that manage the ingestion, processing, and delivery of podcast content to millions of users. You'll play a key role in evolving the Distribution API, enabling creators and third-party platforms to publish and manage content seamlessly, regardless of hosting provider.
Develop and extend backend systems to support new content formats and AI-powered capabilities across the creator platform. Work closely with product teams and engineering partners to define and deliver scalable solutions that power platform-wide features. Help shape the future of audio experiences by building robust, reliable infrastructure.
Collaborate with senior engineers to design systems capable of handling vast volumes of content and creators. Participate in on-call rotations to monitor system health and ensure consistent performance and uptime.
Requirements
You have a proven background in developing backend services, with strong proficiency in Java and exposure to JavaScript or Ruby on Rails. Experience with cloud infrastructure—such as GCP or AWS—and relational databases like MySQL is essential.
You understand the complexities of distributed systems and have built scalable APIs or services that operate efficiently at high volume. You adapt quickly to new technologies and confidently navigate different layers of the tech stack.
You're comfortable using AI-assisted development tools like Claude to accelerate learning, streamline coding, and solve challenging technical problems. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environments are critical.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience across frontend and backend development is beneficial, though not required.
