Join AuditBoard as a Senior Software Engineer I on the Design Systems & Accessibility team. You will be a core contributor to the Luna design system that powers every feature at AuditBoard, building high-quality foundations and driving department-wide accessibility strategy.
What You'll Do
- Expand and maintain the Luna design system, focusing on high-quality, reusable component architecture.
- Write clear and well-defined platform documentation to empower self-service support and technical clarity for other engineers.
- Consult and advise internal product teams on Luna adoption and accessibility best practices.
- Drive the department-wide A11Y program by refining accessibility standards and implementing high-impact remediations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally in unfamiliar areas of ownership, partnering with engineers, designers, and PMs across the organization.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software bugs, reaching into deep or unfamiliar product areas to diagnose platform-level hurdles.
- Leverage AI-driven tools and workflows to efficiently drive higher-quality outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience developing web-based applications.
- Proven track record working within large, complex, enterprise-scale codebases.
- Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 standards and ability to implement compliant solutions.
- Deep experience with a modern JS framework (Ember, React, Angular, or Vue).
- Ability to solve complex UI challenges using modern CSS best practices and accessible patterns.
- Experience building and consuming REST/JSON APIs in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience writing maintainable software tests (Unit, Integration, and E2E).
- Proficiency with AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Gemini) to enhance development and documentation.
- Proactive collaboration initiative and ability to drive conversations to resolve blockers.
- System-minded problem solving with a 'platform-first' approach.
- Resilient collaboration with empathy, especially regarding compliance or system constraints.
- Talent for translating complex technical decisions into clear, well-defined documentation.
- High motivation to solve problems independently with the maturity to know when to pull in others.
- Positive attitude toward continuous learning and stretching comfort zones.
Nice to Have
- Ember.js experience, as the core SPA is built on Ember.
- IAAP Certification (CPACC or WAS) or formal training in digital accessibility.
- Experience working in compliance-driven environments (e.g., FinTech, HealthTech).
- A history of contributing to open-source projects or maintaining internal libraries/tools.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

Team & Environment
The Design Systems & Accessibility team is a small team of three high-seniority engineers (Senior I+) that moves fast, values technical autonomy, and engages in high-level architectural collaboration. The team works with embedded designers and a dedicated Product Manager.
