Join Scout Motors as a Senior Software Engineer, Backend and play a key role in developing software from concept to deployment. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable solutions that meet customer needs.
What You'll Do
- Work with engineers and technical leaders to ship interoperable products managing customer interactions.
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex software systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Implement single sign-on solutions for secure, multi-application access.
- Design, implement, and support identity, access, and profile services for web, mobile, and vehicle applications.
- Implement best practices for development including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Mentor and coach junior team members to help them grow.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to improve our development process.
- Ensure 24/7 on-call coverage for services owned by your team.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 5+ years in software development with a focus on back-end technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in one of Go, Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby.
- Experience with both relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with identity management systems (e.g., Azure AD, AWS Cognito, LDAP, Okta, Keyclock).
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Hands-on experience building on AWS using Go and/or Python.
- Full-stack development experience.
