Jasper is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to work at the forefront of AI innovation. You will build, experiment with, and deploy AI systems that reshape content creation and marketing, designing and developing features that leverage the latest AI and machine learning technologies on the Jasper platform.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and deploy features that leverage the latest in AI and machine learning technologies, working on core areas of the Jasper platform.
- Work directly with large language models, natural language processing, and generative AI systems.
- Solve complex technical challenges that push the boundaries of what AI can accomplish.
- Write clean, maintainable code that solves intricate problems with elegant solutions.
- Take ownership of critical features from conception through deployment and beyond.
- Optimize performance and proactively address scale challenges as our platform grows.
- Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate user needs into technical solutions.
- Prototype rapidly to validate new AI capabilities and user experiences.
- Contribute to architectural decisions that will guide Jasper's technical evolution.
- Take initiative in identifying opportunities to improve our development processes and AI implementations.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in backend engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Typescript (Node JS), NestJS Framework, and Python.
- Proven track record of delivering software that creates real value for users.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
- Experience scaling applications and addressing performance challenges.
- Strong communication skills and experience working effectively with cross-functional partners.
- A passion for continuous learning and improvement in fast-moving technology landscapes.
Nice to Have
- Preferably experience in a VC-backed startup environment.
- Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply these approaches.

This role is part of a remote-first team across the US, France, and Australia, reporting to the Director of Engineering.
