SMBC Group is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain a variety of software applications, tools, and functions for the business. You will be a key member of the team working on mission-critical projects for our Capital Markets business, providing technical expertise for the development environment, technology architecture, and implementation.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain software applications, tools, and functions for the business.
- Compile business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development.
- Document application functions and update the code repository.
- Support QA testing and implement fixes for exceptions.
- Participate in the technical design of all aspects of software solutions for the Capital Market business, including both in-house and external applications.
- Work with business users and analysts to ensure applications meet user specifications and requirements.
- Interact with the larger development team, share design and solutions, and contribute to overall team objectives.
- Assist in the technical vision and strategic planning of all aspects of software solutions for the Capital Market business.
What We're Looking For
- Practical work experience involving system architecture, software application, and message and data transfer and processing.
- Well-versed in C#/.Net and/or C++.
- Solid knowledge in computer science, math, and proficient coding skills.
- Familiarity with the design and implementation of data/message transfer and processing.
- Excellent communication skills, good teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
- The maturity to solve problems directly and independently.
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a similar engineering field with successful academic achievement, or equivalent professional work experience.
Nice to Have
- An active interest in other computing technology and tools.
- Familiarity with Fixed Income.
