Jobgether is hiring a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications in our fully remote, collaborative environment. You will work across back-end and front-end components, primarily with Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and Next.js, while contributing to software architecture, code quality, and performance optimization.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Ruby on Rails.
- Build and maintain GraphQL APIs and integrate front-end components with server-side logic using Next.js.
- Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including planning, testing, deployment, and code reviews.
- Identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and propose effective solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and ship new features.
- Serve as a technical reference, mentoring junior developers and fostering continuous learning.
- Stay up to date with best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
- 3+ years with Ruby on Rails in production.
- Strong experience designing and building GraphQL APIs and integrating web services.
- Knowledge of Next.js/React and understanding of front-end development principles.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and relational database design.
- Solid foundation in computer science concepts, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience working in distributed, remote teams across multiple time zones.
- Familiarity with version control (Git), agile methodologies, DevOps/CI/CD practices, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced English reading and writing skills; spoken English sufficient to understand technical discussions.
- Residence in a Latin American country supported by Remote.com.
