Wealthsimple is hiring a Senior Software Developer, ML Ops

Wealthsimple is looking for a Senior Software Developer, ML Ops to join our Machine Learning Platform team. You will build a self-serve platform to enable our data scientists, improve tooling, and support the launch of new data products.

What You'll Do

• Partner with stakeholders across product domains and infrastructure to tackle technical problems at scale.
• Build framework-agnostic services to support all of Wealthsimple’s machine learning needs.
• Establish the roadmap and architecture for Wealthsimple’s Machine Learning platform.
• Build highly performant, scalable systems, contributing to our ML platform on Kubernetes, Bedrock and Sagemaker.
• Work with a large amount of autonomy to set the technical direction for scalable projects.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of software development experience in ML infrastructure, ML tooling, or ML engineering.
• Experience implementing production-ready services.
• Experience with Python in production environments.
• Proven experience designing and implementing highly performant, scalable systems with strong observability.
• Proven experience owning projects end-to-end and operating complex systems over the long term.
• Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders (product, infra, applied ML).

Technical Stack

• Languages & Frameworks: Python, FastAPI, PyTorch, Transformers, Ray
• Platforms & Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Sagemaker, Bedrock, Kubeflow, Triton, CUDA
• Data & Orchestration: Kafka, Postgres, Redshift, Snowflake, MLFlow, DVC
• Tools: Elasticsearch or other vector databases, LangChain, Ollama

Team & Environment

This role is part of the Data Science & Engineering (DSE) team, consisting of data scientists and software engineers. You’ll join a high-bar, fast-paced team where people are trusted to own their work, communicate openly, and ship improvements for our clients.
