The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will design and architect scalable, reliable platforms to empower engineers in delivering features efficiently. This cross-functional role involves close collaboration with engineering, data, and product teams to ensure seamless operation of cloud infrastructure, observability tools, and CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on supporting B2B growth and new product development at CookUnity.
What You'll Do
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and EKS environments, ensuring efficient scaling and high availability of applications.
- Create and maintain a robust framework for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for automated infrastructure deployment and management.
- Implement and manage efficient and reliable CI/CD pipelines with GitLab for seamless software delivery.
- Manage the growing database fleet (including RDS Postgres and MySQL), ensuring seamless database migrations, data integrity, and reliability.
- Partner with engineering teams to foster best data management practices.
- Design, implement, and manage event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis) to enable real-time data processing and asynchronous communication between services.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.
- Use Wiz to check work and remediate risks with B2B infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain a holistic approach to observability and infrastructure monitoring to proactively detect and resolve issues before they impact services.
- Actively partner with Compliance and Security teams to plan and execute compliance workstreams for HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2, ISO 270001, and HITRUST.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with AWS and advanced multi-region cloud networking concepts.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) knowledge and experience with Terraform.
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with Kubernetes and EKS to manage containerized applications at scale.
- Experience with database management and decentralized database migrations.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines to achieve efficient software delivery.
- Experience partnering with Security and Compliance teams to deliver audit-ready evidence and drive remediation work.
- Working knowledge of common control frameworks and audit processes, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements in regulated environments, such as HIPAA, PCI, and HITRUST.
- Fluency with AI engineering tools.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in Python, NodeJs, Golang and/or Bash.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in production.
- Experience with GitOps principles and tools, such as ArgoCD.
- Experience with event streaming platforms, such as Kafka, in particular use of MSK in AWS environments.
- Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices and experience in implementing security measures.
- Experience in IoT, edge computing, or hardware integrations related to kitchen operations.
