About the Role

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Site Reliability DevOps Specialist to join our global Cloud Technical/Development team. In this role, you will focus on designing, maintaining, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our Google Cloud Platform environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to automate infrastructure, monitor performance, and support the company's cloud strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain a resilient, secure, and efficient cloud-hosted platform to meet Service Level Agreements.
  • Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Ansible to design, deploy, and manage enterprise servers, network infrastructure, and cloud architectures.
  • Engage with cross-functional, globally distributed teams on troubleshooting, providing automation insights, and influencing architectural decisions.
  • Coordinate with Cloud and Engineering teams to build, monitor, and maintain secure cloud-hosted infrastructure via automation in production and non-production environments.
  • Configure and tune cloud-based tools, managing cost, security, and compliance of the Boeing Cloud.
  • Design, build, and maintain environment-specific alerts and dashboards via analytics tools like Google Cloud Monitoring.
  • Monitor and resolve site stability and performance issues, including incident management and post-mortem analysis.
  • Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab in GCP environments.
  • 5+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud computing environment, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform.
  • 3+ years of experience designing cloud architectures on GCP, including multi-cloud strategies and microservices.
  • Experience with GCP networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Experience with GCP security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with GCP monitoring and logging tools, such as Google Cloud Operations Suite and Google Security Command Center.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go for automating tasks.
  • Experience with disaster recovery strategies and backup solutions specific to GCP environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Azure and/or Amazon Web Services to complement GCP expertise.
  • Experience with collaboration and project management tools including Jira, Confluence, or Slack.
  • Experience with GCP managed database services, such as Cloud SQL, Firestore, or Bigtable, and an understanding of database design and optimization.
  • Experience developing, designing, and supporting Kubernetes as a Service-based solution.
  • Experience and commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest GCP technologies and best practices.
