Role Overview
Lead the engineering and deployment of comprehensive Physical Security Systems across critical infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on railway environments. This position drives technical excellence from initial design through to system commissioning and client handover, ensuring solutions meet strict standards for performance, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret customer security specifications and translate them into detailed technical requirements and system designs
- Identify discrepancies between client expectations and available technologies, proposing effective, efficient solutions
- Produce comprehensive documentation including high-level designs, interface control plans, and traceability matrices
- Lead the design of CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and integrated management systems, covering preliminary, detailed, and installation phases
- Serve as the main technical liaison with clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with internal teams—project managers, engineers, construction leads—and external parties such as contractors and regulatory bodies
- Develop and manage commissioning strategies, including resource planning, scheduling, and logistics
- Lead on-site testing and system acceptance, ensuring all components function safely and as intended
- Supervise subcontractor activities and resolve integration challenges across security subsystems
- Deliver remote or on-site technical support during system activation and troubleshooting
- Create training materials and lead train-the-trainer programs for operations and maintenance teams
- Generate formal testing and commissioning reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Champion knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in technical problem-solving practices
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and administrative protocols including issue tracking and job safety analysis
- Operate effectively in global, multicultural settings, mindful of organizational and economic impacts
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electronic, Electrical Engineering, or Computer/Information Science
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Physical Security System engineering
- Strong understanding of CCTV technologies—camera specification, video encoding, transmission protocols, video analytics, and integration with management platforms
- Familiarity with physical protection against environmental threats such as fire, natural disasters, and vandalism
- Experience designing and integrating access control, intrusion detection, and PSIM systems in railway contexts
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety norms
- Proven ability in commissioning, site surveys, and system troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of electrical infrastructure including cabling, enclosures, and civil integration
- Familiarity with railway-specific systems such as signaling, electric traction, and stray current mitigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in railway or large-scale industrial projects (e.g., energy, oil & gas, airports)
- Working knowledge of PSD, SCADA, and communication protocols like Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Modbus
- Understanding of Safety Integrity Level (SIL) standards for hardware and software
- Basic grasp of maintenance systems, data protocols, asset configuration, and spare parts logistics
- Familiarity with maintenance management platforms in rail and transit environments

This is an onsite role based in Naples, Campania, Italy, with no remote work option.
