Role Overview
As an Information Security Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and protection of critical digital assets. Your work will focus on securing applications, systems, and network communications through proactive configuration, monitoring, and response measures. You'll operate in a fast-paced setting where evolving threats require constant vigilance and technical precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Bot Management platforms to defend against malicious traffic and automated threats
- Strengthen system configurations through hardening practices and timely patching across Windows, Linux, and virtualized environments
- Enforce secure data handling protocols for data in transit, at rest, and during processing
- Implement and oversee access control systems, including Privileged Access Management (PAM), to restrict and monitor sensitive access points
- Review and update application control policies to ensure only approved software runs within the environment
- Analyze security incidents and violations to identify root causes and improve preventive measures
- Support internal teams with technical guidance on security best practices and incident resolution
- Collaborate during incident response activities, contributing technical expertise to containment and remediation
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in information security, computer science, or a related discipline
- Minimum of three years in information security roles, with at least one year focused on Akamai security technologies
- Proven experience with Akamai WAF, Bot Management Platform (BMP), and related security tools
- Strong technical knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), databases, and virtualization platforms
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS, HTTP, and HTTPS protocols
- Familiarity with Privileged Access Management solutions and application control enforcement
- Strong analytical abilities and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Effective communication skills for cross-team collaboration and reporting
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and emerging security challenges
Preferred Background
- Akamai certifications or completion of official training programs
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud security configurations and controls
