About the Role
This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant revenue accounting practices, supporting financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls within a dynamic finance organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards
- Prepare and analyze monthly revenue journal entries and reconciliations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting
- Support quarterly and annual audits by providing necessary documentation
- Maintain and improve internal controls over revenue processes
- Assist in the implementation and enhancement of accounting systems
- Review customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue treatment
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and related revenue guidance
- Lead revenue close activities and meet tight financial deadlines
- Identify and resolve revenue accounting issues proactively
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
- Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff
- Work closely with FP&A on revenue forecasting and analysis
- Manage revenue-related SOX compliance requirements
- Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards on revenue recognition
- Partner with sales operations to align contract terms with accounting policies
- Troubleshoot system issues related to billing and revenue data
- Support integration efforts during mergers or acquisitions
- Ensure data integrity across financial and operational systems
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification required
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven experience in revenue recognition under GAAP and IFRS
- Strong understanding of ASC 606 and its practical application
- Experience working with public or pre-public technology companies
- Deep knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite or Oracle
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting external audits and working with auditors
- Familiarity with subscription-based business models
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership

- Prior experience in a global organization with multi-currency transactions
- Exposure to international revenue regulations
- Certified Public Accountant from a U.S. jurisdiction
- Experience with financial system implementations
- Knowledge of transfer pricing concepts
