What You'll Do
Take ownership of dynamic reservoir modeling for large-scale CO2 storage initiatives, spanning saline formations and mineralization pathways. Develop and refine simulation frameworks to forecast plume migration, pressure response, and long-term containment behavior under varying injection scenarios.
Evaluate geological data and published research to improve model accuracy and define uncertainty ranges. Use simulation results to guide site selection, injection design, and performance forecasting. Support regulatory submissions with technically rigorous documentation and risk assessments that address subsurface integrity over decades.
Collaborate closely with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and monitoring specialists to align modeling outcomes with field implementation. Help shape internal standards for reservoir analysis and contribute to the evolution of simulation practices across the organization.
Requirements
Hold a degree in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, along with P.Eng certification from a Canadian licensing body. Bring over a decade of engineering experience, with a strong focus on reservoir modeling and subsurface performance evaluation.
Demonstrate proficiency with at least one industry-standard reservoir simulation platform. Show a consistent ability to interpret complex subsurface data, communicate technical findings clearly, and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Be comfortable adapting to emerging tools and evolving technical demands in the carbon storage domain.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in geomechanical modeling, reactive-transport simulation, or similar advanced techniques is highly valued. Prior work in geological containment systems—such as CCS, SAGD, waste disposal, or geothermal operations—will strengthen your application. Direct involvement in injection project execution or regulatory compliance processes is an asset.
Benefits
Engage in meaningful work advancing carbon storage technology at scale. Work alongside skilled professionals in a cooperative, technically driven environment. Receive a competitive salary and access to comprehensive benefits. Grow your expertise through exposure to innovative projects and evolving industry practices.
