The Senior Research Manager at NielsenIQ supports Fortune 500 clients by designing and executing custom quantitative research studies to uncover consumer behaviors and trends. In this remote, US-based position, you will manage projects from kickoff to delivery, translate data into strategic insights, and serve as a trusted advisor within a collaborative, curiosity-driven team.
What You'll Do
- Act as a trusted partner to clients by proactively managing day-to-day communications, anticipating needs, and ensuring high-quality delivery
- Guide project workstreams, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining alignment with client business objectives
- Contribute to strategic discussions by grounding client decisions in data and surfacing actionable insights
- Represent the research team with confidence in presentations and client meetings, articulating both methodological rigor and business relevance
- Resolves or seeks support for resolution of project issues to maintain timing and delivery standards
- Guide the development of survey instruments that are methodologically sound and tightly aligned with business questions
- Guide decisions on sampling strategy, respondent targeting, and data collection methods to ensure data quality and relevance
- Implement advanced quantitative techniques (e.g., MaxDiff, TURF, segmentation) where appropriate, with support from senior methodologists
- Manage survey programming and testing processes with a sharp eye for logic, flow, and user experience
- Develop analytic plans and manage data processing processes with hub partners
- Own the initial analysis of complex data sets, identifying patterns, anomalies, and compelling narratives that address core research objectives
- Synthesize findings into clear, business-focused insights that drive strategic decisions
- Build high-impact deliverables—decks, reports—that go beyond data reporting to influence client actions
- Collaborate internal teams to enhance primary research by connecting dots using contextual data sets
- Mentor junior team members by providing thoughtful feedback, sharing best practices, and creating opportunities for skill development
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, curiosity, and a commitment to delivering work that inspires confidence and action
- Monitor project timelines and coordinate internal financial workflows to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with company standards
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in custom quantitative market research, consulting, or related fields, with a strong foundation in survey-based methodologies
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work on time and on budget
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience interpreting complex data and translating it into clear, actionable insights
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace Suite, and survey tools
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to both internal stakeholders and clients
- Ability to work independently but also a collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions and contribute to a team-oriented culture
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, social sciences, or a related field
