ABB is hiring a Senior R&D Engineer Softwareentwicklung to join a self-organized and cross-functional team developing industrial process automation systems. You will contribute to delivering high-quality Distributed Control Systems, with a focus on Embedded Software.
What You'll Do
- Participate in the entire software development process, from analyzing customer requirements to implementation, testing, and validation for automation and embedded systems.
- Verify product requirements and create high-quality designs to implement efficient and effective software solutions.
- Develop software in accordance with quality and safety guidelines for industrial process automation.
- Solve complex industrial problems by keeping up to date with technologies, tools, and methods.
- Review current technologies to choose effective applications and methods for new products or software.
- Provide expert assistance for projects and colleagues.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or electrical engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, preferably as an R&D engineer in industrial automation.
- Knowledge of hardware-related software architectures and operating systems.
- Professional experience with C, C++, and C#.
- Know-how in agile development methods and traditional models like the V-model.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or Azure DevOps Services.
- Business fluent German and fluent English in speaking and writing.
- A high degree of self-motivation, curiosity, and a desire to learn about new technologies.
- A collaborative personality, solution-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Ethernet-based communication protocols such as Profinet or Modbus TCP.
