About the Role
The Senior Quality Assurance Generalist will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans, as well as mentoring junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Perform manual and automated testing to ensure software quality.
- Identify, document, and track defects using defect tracking tools.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and provide feedback.
- Mentor junior QA team members and provide guidance on best practices.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Ensure that testing activities are aligned with project timelines and milestones.
- Conduct regression testing to identify issues in existing functionality.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover unexpected issues.
- Create and maintain test data and test environments.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
- Stay updated with the latest QA tools and technologies.
- Contribute to the development of automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand business requirements.
- Provide input on testability during the design and development phases.
- Conduct performance and security testing as needed.
- Document testing processes and maintain test documentation.
- Participate in agile development processes and sprint planning.
- Work with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and test cases.
- Ensure that testing activities are aligned with project goals and objectives.
- Provide feedback on the usability and user experience of software products.
Nice to Have
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
- Experience with healthcare-specific software testing.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium).
- Knowledge of API testing and tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
- Knowledge of continuous testing and DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD).
- Experience with mobile application testing tools (e.g., Appium, Espresso).
- Knowledge of security testing and tools (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite).
- Experience with test data generation and management tools.
- Familiarity with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
- Experience with test environment setup and management.
- Knowledge of usability testing and user experience (UX) principles.
- Experience with cross-functional team collaboration and communication.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Robot Framework).
- Experience with test case management and documentation tools.
- Knowledge of software quality assurance best practices and standards.
