The Senior QA Engineer will operate within the technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe, testing complex data initiatives including Oracle-based reporting systems and modern cloud data platforms. The role involves full ownership of test strategy, execution, defect analysis, and process improvement in a collaborative Agile setting, requiring strong analytical capabilities and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical requirements to understand data flows and underlying business logic.
- Help develop and implement overall Test Strategy and Test Plans, while defining specific test scenarios.
- Assist in estimating testing effort and proactively highlight potential risks.
- Design, write, and maintain Test Cases to verify data integrity, transformation accuracy, and reporting outputs.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing phases.
- Generate and manage test data to support validation of complex data scenarios.
- Execute testing rigorously, analyze outcomes, and document results in detail.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and log defects in JIRA with clear, actionable information for developers.
- Retest defect fixes to confirm complete resolution.
- Coordinate testing efforts with internal teams, external vendors, and business users, including UAT support.
- Enforce adherence to testing standards and advocate for best practices within the team.
- Organize monthly demo sessions to update stakeholders on project progress.
- Support continuous improvement of development and testing processes.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of software testing experience with a focus on data-centric projects.
- Extensive hands-on experience testing Oracle databases.
- Validate data accuracy, consistency, and correctness in line with business rules.
- Test database components such as stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views for correct functionality.
- Perform source-to-target validation to ensure accurate data transformation and loading into reporting tables.
- Advanced SQL proficiency, including writing complex queries for data validation, comparison, and anomaly detection.
- Proven experience working within Agile methodologies and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong understanding of testing techniques including Black Box, White Box, System, Integration, and Regression testing.
- Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as HP ALM and JIRA.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure with a practical, results-driven mindset.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and creative problem-solving abilities.
