Skylight is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to join our team. You will lead testing efforts for software running on custom hardware, including embedded Android devices, mobile apps, and web platforms. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work within a cross-functional pod to design test plans, perform exploratory testing, implement automation, and ensure a high-quality user experience.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with product and engineering during project scoping to identify risk and establish test plans.
Perform manual exploratory testing and validation of new projects within your pod.
Test Android-based software running on custom hardware and firmware.
Work with engineers and QA to define, design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts across our tech stacks.
Participate in bug triage and incident response to reproduce and advocate for timely resolution of important software defects.
Collaborate with QA team members across pods to improve testing efficiency and foster a sustainable workload.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in the quality assurance field.
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of analyzing business requirements from a customer’s perspective.
Hands-on testing experience with mobile devices (Android + iOS).
Experience testing software on embedded Android devices.
Familiarity with ADB, system logs, and Android internals.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify and foresee requirement gaps.
Experienced with logging and tracking defects throughout the defect lifecycle.
Strong understanding of the SDLC, Agile testing, and software testing methodologies.

For Colorado and California-based candidates, compensation is $150-$170K based on experience, plus equity.
