Lead the delivery of electric transmission siting, routing, and permitting initiatives in California. Manage cross-functional teams, advance business development goals, and contribute to significant infrastructure projects within a collaborative environmental consulting setting. This position supports project execution and strategic growth with a remote work setup and periodic travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Direct transmission line siting, routing, and permitting projects as the primary project lead
- Supervise and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams involved in environmental analysis, engineering, and design
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with defined scope and quality standards
- Prepare and submit land use and environmental permit applications to federal, state, and local regulatory bodies
- Support project development activities including technical analysis, permitting strategy, and financial evaluation
- Maintain strict adherence to health and safety protocols and report any incidents or hazards
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the electric transmission sector
- Leverage established relationships with utility and developer clients to secure project work
- Respond to requests for proposals, qualifications, and information with technical and cost inputs
- Collaborate with clients to define new project needs and shape competitive pursuit strategies
- Develop detailed project proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in managing electric transmission siting, routing, and permitting initiatives
- Thorough understanding of California-specific transmission siting application processes
- Experience providing expert testimony before the California Public Utilities Commission
- Proven background in CEQA, NEPA, federal and state permitting, and renewable energy infrastructure
- Familiarity with GIS and specialized routing or siting software tools
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and quality control
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no restrictions
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in environmental consulting
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or ArcGIS
- Experience engaging with California regulatory agencies such as the California Energy Commission, Coastal Commission, State Lands Commission, Department of Fish and Wildlife, and State Water Resources Control Board

Compensation
Pay commensurate with experience. Pay Range: $140,000 - $180,000 annually
Work Arrangement
Remote within California with up to 25% travel required
